What's the difference between quartz and granite countertops?
Granite is a natural stone with unique veining and variation in every slab, while quartz is an engineered stone made from crushed quartz and resin, giving it a more uniform look and lower maintenance. Granite needs periodic sealing; quartz does not. As an MSI dealer we carry both, and your designer walks you through which material makes more sense for how you actually use your kitchen and the look you want.
Are your countertops cheaper than the big box stores?
Yes. As an MSI dealer we buy the same granite and quartz slabs the warehouse sells, sourced direct, so they cost less, and the design help to coordinate them with your cabinets and tile is included. The assumption that a design shop must charge more does not hold up on countertops.
Do you template and install, or just sell the slab?
We handle and schedule the whole process ourselves (selection, templating to your exact cabinets, and installation) rather than handing you off to someone else to coordinate. Because you are choosing the countertop in the same place as your cabinets, tile, and flooring, everything stays coordinated, instead of you carrying measurements between separate stores and hoping it all matches.
How do you handle seams?
We place seams where they show least and keep them tight and level, which matters most on big kitchens and islands. During templating we plan seam locations around your sink, cooktop, and slab size, and we walk you through where any seam will fall before fabrication, so there are no surprises on install day.
How do I take care of a stone countertop?
Quartz is essentially wipe-and-go; mild soap and water is all it needs, with no sealing ever. Granite is just as easy day to day, with a simple resealing once or twice a year to keep it stain-resistant. We tell you exactly what your specific stone needs when you choose it, so care is never a guessing game.
